For example, a chemistry student attempting to memorize the fact that Pb stands for lead can recite "peanut butter and lead." This connection is quite unusual, which will make it memorable.

One exercise that can make it easier for you to recall things is to jot notes down. Not only does this circulate blood to the part of the brain responsible for memory function, but it also exercises it. If you keep a list or a diary, you may see a significant improvement in how well you can recall things.

If you want to try to remember something, put it to music and create a melody. This technique is often used to help children learn to sing the alphabet by memorizing it. Melodies provide repetition and attraction, so they are easier to grab and memorize. Put your next thought to a tune and see if it's easier to recall.

Physical exercise is recommended to help your memory as part of overall health. When you exercise, the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain is improved, and this keeps your brain healthy. Memory is centered in your brain and maintaining good health is essential to increasing your maximum brain function. In addition, exercise lowers the risk of diabetes. Diabetes has been shown to have a detrimental effect on brain function and memory.
